friday to sunday:)

friday morning we went over to grandma mintens for a visit.
max and great aunt jenny, max is getting really good at smiling for the camera:)
lilly, great grandma minten, and baby grey.
we were home by lunch time and spent the rest of the day in the house. on saturday we had our monthly DS gathering at the mom and pop place, it's a cafe that also has a toy store on the other side. it's a great place to meet because they have an area for the kids to play all the different toys they sell.
we got there an hour late because there was the first snowfall here and the roads were a little slippery, but not to bad... oh, and we woke up late, i would have to say now that i think of it was more about the waking up late then it was because of the roads. so we get there and not one other person was there! not anyone from the group or any other family just there to get coffee.
we did miss our friends,
but it was really fun for max and lilly to have the whole toy area to themselves.
this is the loudest toy they had there, it is a little wooden alligator that snaps different pieces together as you pull it. lilly loved it and ran it all over the store:) the lady working there mentioned maybe we should get one for her...all i could say was "no way!"
max loved playing with the train set:)
we stayed for about an hour or so, then headed home.
max fell asleep on the way home and took an early nap, lilly played outside with her dad while he shoveled. they built the first snowman on the block... we didn't have a carrot for his nose so it's a piece of asparagus!
great aunt lynn was home from milwaukee and stopped over to say hi and give the kids their annual singing Christmas cards:) and they love them.
lilly and baby grey sunday morning on the couch.
we are snowed in, it's a blizzard out there this morning! we plan to stay in the house and drink hot chocolate and play games.

holiday weekend.

last holiday weekend up at white potato lake.
we did a lot of swimming...
sweet little lilly.
sweet little max.
lynn's 60th birthday jessie made a cake!
a super sad looking cake:( but it sure tasted good:)

max didn't take his eyes off of it.
so handsome.

max loved the little gator ride lilly gave him, they want around and around the cottage.
his therapist would have been so proud, he stood the whole time:)
hold on max, your sister can be a crazy driver:)
kids fishing off the dock.
kids playing on little riding toys.
kids sitting in chairs.
kids, kids everywhere:) big adam and little adam joking around.
careful with the fork evan:)
max 's sweet cheeks just about to go in the water:)
water trampoline fun:)
this was the last day that nick, max and myself were up north for the holiday weekend lilly stay up with the rest of the family. we came home on saturday max had a terrible case of pink eye, i have never seen such sad eyes:( he also had a fever and that night had some sort of stomach bug all night:( sunday night was much, much better. his eyes cleared up after the first drop of medication. nick and i had planned to stay up north all weekend then my mom and dad were going to be keeping both kids up there and bringing them home friday morning. so monday afternoon we brought max back up north and spent the day with the family and then left the kids:( it was a really hard thing for me to do, but nick and i planned to put a fence up at home and we would get so much more done with them not around. plus i know they would have so much more fun up there.
so the last few nights have been really strange. i feel a little free in a way? i have gotten so may things done that i was putting off, and i am happy to say the fence is almost finished. the kids are doing great, lilly told me a story over the phone that she and grandma found a painter turtle on the road and it peed on grandma! she laughed so hard:) then they let it go in the lake.
i am so excited to see them in the morning! i have missed them so much, it's one thing to feel a little free... but now it's more of a free but very empty feeling like i want to be doing something else (like take care of my kids, hug and kiss my kids).

special delivery

this morning we had a unexpected visitor and she brought a special delivery. for every holiday my aunt lynn, lilly and maxs great aunt lynn mails them those hallmark musical cards, because its always fun for the kids to get mail!!! growing up my aunt lynn lived one house away form my mom and dads, she was the aunt that i have memories of painting my nails, being so little and her letting me play dress up with her fancy jewelry, reading me story's, and helping me with my reading (i never really liked reading as a kid, it was something i struggled in) my aunt lynn is a wonderful teacher and is great with children. she was with us on Christmas mornings, Thanksgivings, oh and never missed a birthday. so even though she lives now lives in Milwaukee she is still a huge part in our lives. anyways instead of getting these cards by mail she made a special delivery and stop at our house for a nice visit. we really love her visits, cards or no cards:)

thanks again great aunt lynn:)

here is lilly and great aunt lynn last Halloween:)

she was waiting in my driveway when i got home and scared the "poop" out of me!!! (and just so you all know she put paint on her front tooth, it's not really like that, ha... that was such a funny day!!!)
